What is Operation Marry Me Military?

In 2011 Alecia Geddings of Oak Island Photography & Weddings, in Brunswick County created a campaign.  Her goal was to offer a contest to allow a lucky military person to be married for free on Veteran's Day.  Alecia issued a challenge to other counties to do the same.  Within weeks, several counties came forth to participate. Operation MMM married five couples throughout the state on 11-11-11 totaling over $200,000 in free goods and services.  Alecia's personal mission is by 2021 to have all 100 counties in NC participating by offering a free wedding every Veteran's Day.

So here is how you can help….

Carolina Weddings and Events is going to coordinate a wedding for a lucky couple with the help of vendors in the Mecklenburg County area. This is great exposure for your company and a great way to give back to those who serve our country. Speak with us if you know the amount it would cost for your product and we will determine the needs for this wedding. We do not know who will be picked until August 15th. You must be available to give the bride/groom the product before November 11, 2012 or the day of depending on what you are donating.

**All entries must be received by July 30, 2012. Winners will be selected on August 15, 2011 and notified via phone this day. The winners will be posted on the website. The winners will be married on 11-11-12 (Veteran’s Day) throughout North Carolina. (No exceptions) This wedding is for up to 50 guests. This is non-transferable.
